I was passing by Jalan Bahagia over the weekend and noticed quite a number of HDB Terrace Houses along the road. The most interesting observation was that they had done extensive renovations to enlarge their homes from a 2 bedroom HDB to a 3 or 4 bedroom HDB complete with gardens, ponds, fencing etc. I thought they were landed property not HDB flats. I was puzzled as i thought that public housing in this case HDB flats are suppose to have a uniform facade/exterior. Those rules are applied strictly to other HDB flats but not in the case of the HDB Terrace House - Jalan Bahagia. Why is that so?
Do they also pay the same conservancy fees as other 3 room HDB flats? It seems a waste of space in land scarce Singapore to have 2 storey HDB flats to cater to a small number of people vis a vis a block of flats.
Appreciate your comments.
