I think this one you gotta ask the monastery.Originally posted by marcteng:How does a monk go about his daily life, regardless of which school of Buddhism?
I suppose a monk has to wake up early in the morning to do morning chanting and meditation isn't it?
What does a new monk do when he is newly ordained into the order?
I suppose he will receive his buddhist education as thoroughly as possible isn't it.

Can a non-buddhist stay in a monastery and have a life as a monk?
My definition of non-buddhist is not yet converted to Buddhism, for e.g. still a free thinker ....
Renouncing is definitely not becoming 'crazy'Originally posted by Bryan^:Btw dun be too crazy over buddhism...Believe n practise & being crazy over buddhism is 2 diff things...Walk the MIddle Path...
I can say i nt a total good buddhist...
There are some monks who return to lay life after so many years as monk.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Renouncing is definitely not becoming 'crazy'
Renouncing for long term means one has really set our minds towards the life of renunciation and left behind worldly things. For my master, he does not encourage or allow duan-qi-chu-jia (short term renunciation) in his sangha. He wants people who renounce to renounce completely and live renounced throughout his life.
